Welcome Aboard
Welcome
aboard Marine Corps
Air Station New River. Whether you are a newly assigned Marine
or sailor or just visiting the Air Station, we hope you find
your assignment rewarding and career enhancing. Approximately
6,000 Marines, sailors, airmen and 600 civilian employees work
on a daily basis to meet the demands of operating the Corps’
only East Coast rotary wing and tiltrotor Air Station. We are
home to two Marine Aircraft Groups, several premier training
units and the first operational MV-22 squadrons. For more than
60 years, our primary mission has been providing combat assault
support for Fleet Marine Force units worldwide. Our dedication
and reputation have made us a key part of the II Marine
Expeditionary Force and Marine Corps Installations East team.
MCAS New River enjoys an excellent relationship with the
surrounding Jacksonville and Onslow County community. Our
continued success depends on strengthening our partnerships with
state and local governments. We understand our inherent
influence on the economic growth in the surrounding areas. Our
servicemen, servicewomen and civilian employees living
throughout the local community participate and contribute at all
levels of government, adding to the social and economic health
of the region.
Inside this guide you will find information on the services
available to Marines, sailors and their families. We’ll
introduce you to all the amenities we have to offer, from the
many family support programs to the outstanding recreational
opportunities that abound here. The
maps and
phone directory
should help you navigate through the facility. Once again,
welcome aboard and please enjoy your time at MCAS New River.
