Water

Photo of the sunset at the beach. The Environmental Affairs Division (EAD) is committed to preserving the beauty of its coastal surroundings and keeping the New River clean. Wastewater collection, conveyance, and treatment operations are owned and managed by MCB Camp Lejeune, but EAD remains involved and stays abreast of water-related issues at the Station. EAD has conducted studies and implemented changes and upgrades in an effort to reduce water pollution.

A water conservation study was conducted in order to determine methods of reducing water use at MCAS New River. 85% of the water use at the Station is from residences and offices.

Water use worksheets were used in order to gather data from throughout the Station. The data collected was then reconciled with water usage records from the larger users at the Station and the water treatment plant in order to identify the largest users at the Station. Recommendations were then developed for ways to reduce water usage for the top users.
